Which New Zealand banks can you connect?
In short
You can connect ANZ, ASB, BNZ and Westpac to Paagaa today. Kiwibank, TSB and the Co-operative Bank are not available yet. If you bank elsewhere you can still use Paagaa for goals, guides and adviser introductions without connecting an account.
Which banks can you connect to Paagaa right now?
Four banks are available today: ANZ, ASB, BNZ and Westpac. These are the four that were required to comply with New Zealand's banking data rules from 1 December 2025, and they cover the large majority of personal accounts in the country.
If you hold accounts at more than one of them, you can connect each one and see everything together, which is something a single bank's own app cannot do for you.

Why is Kiwibank not available yet?
Kiwibank is on a later timetable than the four largest banks. Its designation under the banking regulations begins on 1 June 2026, but that first stage covers payments only. Kiwibank customer data, which is the part a budgeting app needs, is out of scope until 1 December 2026.
So Kiwibank accounts cannot be connected today. This is a sequencing decision in the regulations rather than anything specific to Kiwibank or to Paagaa.
What about TSB, the Co-operative Bank, Heartland and others?
Smaller banks and deposit takers were not designated in the first round. They can choose to opt in by giving notice to MBIE, so the list is expected to grow, but there is no published date to point you at.
We would rather tell you plainly that your bank is not available than imply it is coming soon when we do not know.
What can you do if your bank is not on the list?
You can still use Paagaa. Connecting a bank automates your spending picture, but goals, the guides, and introductions to advisers and financial mentors all work without a connection.
Plenty of people also start this way on purpose, connect nothing, and decide later. Nothing about the app assumes you have linked an account.
Does connecting one bank show accounts at another?
No. Each connection covers one bank, and you approve each one separately on that bank's own login screen. Connecting ANZ does not reveal anything about an ASB account, and vice versa.
If you want a combined picture across two banks, connect both. Each stays independently listed, and each can be disconnected on its own.
